My dream of becoming a Registered Dietitian is slowly transforming into a reality. It's hard to believe that I have been accepted into a coordinated Dietetic Internship/Master's program since the application process has been so lengthy and stressful. Last I heard the acceptance rate is less than 50%, so even some of the most deserving students don't always get matched. Having beaten the odds, I couldn't be more thrilled!
Knowing that I will soon need to apply everything that I have been learning for the past couple of years is overwhelming. I can't help but question the existence of my long-term memory. However, am reassured that everything will turn out just fine after picking the brains of other former and current interns who claim that you aren't expected to remember everything. Phew!
My goal is to give other prospective interns insight into what an internship is really like. Even though I have yet to begin my rotations and don't even know where they will be, I survived the application process, so feel free to pick my brain. Nothing is off-limits!
